Live win rate analysis of the Deadlock meta from 1.31M tracked matches. Which heroes overperform, which underperform, and what it means for your hero pool.
Deadlock Meta Report: Who Actually Wins
Balance in Deadlock shifts fast. Valve ships frequent patches, and every change ripples through the matchmaking pool. Instead of guessing from forum sentiment, this report reads the live numbers: win rates computed from more than 1.3 million tracked matches, refreshed twice a day.
The current win rate board
At the latest snapshot, the top of the board is dominated by a small group of heroes that clear the 53% S-tier threshold:
| Hero | Win Rate | Tracked Matches | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graves | 56.7% | 511K | S |
| Victor | 56.4% | 445K | S |
| Seven | 54.8% | 467K | S |
| Paige | 54.3% | 449K | S |
| Kelvin | 54.0% | 255K | S |
At the other end, the weakest performers sit below 47%:
| Hero | Win Rate | Tracked Matches | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mirage | 43.9% | 222K | D |
| Sinclair | 45.0% | 228K | D |
| Silver | 45.1% | 309K | D |
| Venator | 45.1% | 532K | D |
| Mina | 45.3% | 545K | D |
How to read these numbers
Win rate alone is not the whole story. A hero with a high pick rate and a slightly positive win rate is a stronger ladder pick than a low-pick hero with an inflated number, because the sample is more representative. Seven, for example, sits at 54.8% across 466,890 tracked matches; that is a more reliable signal than a niche hero with an inflated win rate on a fraction of the games.
The tier thresholds used here are deliberately simple and data-driven:
- S tier: 53%+ win rate
- A tier: 51-53%
- B tier: 49-51%
- C tier: 47-49%
- D tier: below 47%
What the September 16 patch changed
The latest balance update cut all slows by 20% and reworked the comeback gold system. In practice that means:
- Slows are weaker: heroes that relied on slow-based lockdown, like Lash and Grey Talon, lost some of their catch potential.
- Comeback gold rewards risk: the rework changes how much gold trailing teams receive, which shifts the value of greedy economy builds.
- Graves got stronger: health per boon went from 33 to 35, which is a direct durability buff for the current win rate leader.
- Haze got a buff: Fixation headshot stacks went from +2 to +3, pushing her single-target damage higher.
After every patch the win rates recompute, so check the tier list page for the post-patch picture rather than assuming the board above stays frozen.
Practical takeaways
- If you want to climb: the S-tier heroes in this snapshot have the strongest raw win rates at scale. Graves and Seven are both high-pick, high-win-rate heroes, which makes them reasonable mains.
- If you want off-meta value: heroes in B tier with lower pick rates often win games by being unfamiliar to opponents. A well-practiced B-tier main beats a mediocre S-tier player.
- Watch the D tier: Mirage sitting at 43.9% is a strong signal that the hero needs buffs or a play style adjustment in the current patch. Avoid investing ladder time there until the numbers move.
